Making plans for 2023, Meg & Will spent a few hours in the early Spring reflecting on pictures of the farming year gone by, considering things that they really enjoyed and thinking about how they could bring these experiences to their customers.
Inspired by her two year chairmanship of national organisation Flowers from the Farm, Meg suggested that they look into the possibility of 'Pick Your Own' flowers. Will, also inspired by a recent visit to Germany where he had cycled past PYO flower farms popular in the area he visited, began to turn attention to where on the farm this could be achieved.
And the result will be a new 1/2 acre plot of flower beds laid out in four quadrants, with 'Dahlia Mania' taking over one quarter, mixed flower beds laid out across the rest.
Planned to take Worcestershires flower lovers through a whole summer season they will begin with the early meadow like flowers and end with those they can cut and dry to enjoy all winter, there is even rumour of a pumpkin patch for the autumn.
Throughout the summer there will not only be the opportunity for PYO to enjoy with family and friends, but special, exclusive sessions for brides booking the 'Pick of the Plot', enjoying gathering flowers to arrange for their wedding celebrations. Find out more by clicking here.
And in September Roots will be celebrating along with flower farmers all over the country inviting the public to join them on their plots in celebrating the Flower Farmers Big Weekend 8th - 10th September.
Join Meg & Will and the team at Roots to celebrate a year of flowers and find yourself 'in the pink'!
