At Roots we LOVE flowers. Seasonal, fresh flowers with colour, scent and texture. There is nothing else we grow that gives joy and comfort in equal measure. Our bunches, bouquets and buckets for homes, gifts and events continue to thrill fellow flower lovers.
We are excited to announce that our new PYO Flower Plot is now OPEN!
Picking sessions for Friday & Saturday on the plot can be pre-booked here on our website - scroll down to book tickets. You may also just pop along and if we can fit you in, you can pick right away. Appointments can be made for other days of the week to ‘buy the field’ when you can have exclusive picking time if you have plans for a larger event.

Here are the answers to some frequently asked questions, if you need to know anything else, please don't hesitate to get in touch through our contact page.
What can we pick?
Different flowers come into season at different times and to keep the flower field going throughout the summer, new plants are being slotted in all the time. If you had something particular in mind, have a look at our weekly Facebook post 'What's on the Plot' which will give the changing and up to date information about what is available to pick each week.
When can we come?
Fresh flowers are best picked in the morning before the heat of the day.
For pre-booked appointments, there are three sessions on each picking day; 9am-11am, 10am-12pm and 11am - 1pm. Friday sessions are for adults only, on Saturday families are welcome. Exclusive appointments can be arranged on Wednesday and Thursday for PYO Brides and their wedding parties.

What do we need to bring?
We will provide you with a picking bucket (containing water) and snips. You are welcome to bring your own bucket to transfer your flowers into before you travel home. We do not provide buckets to takeaway, your flowers will be wrapped just before you leave if you choose not to transport them in water yourself.
Can we bring friends?
Wedding and event parties requiring exclusive booking will be quoted individually although based on a two hour picking session for up to six people gathering five large buckets of flowers.
Can we buy more flowers than we have picked on the day?
We often have a selection of other flowers and foliage that have been picked elsewhere on the farm for purchase. If you are picking for a wedding, we will offer to supply buckets of foliage to accompany your flowers, these can be pre-ordered ready for collection on the day of your picking session.

Can I pick flowers for my wedding?
I'm in the flower business, can I pick my own?
You are welcome to pick your own flowers, but please remember that the PYO should be fun for everyone. If you are cutting mixed varieties of flowers, this will work well. If you need just one variety (just dahlias, sunflowers, sweet peas for example) we would rather that you asked us about your wholesale requirement, then we will be able to help make sure you get the best flowers for the job you are supplying.
How many flowers fit in a bucket?
Large PYO buckets hold 60-80 stems.

Every week we roll forward our calendar and make more dates available to book. We plan to be able to pick until the middle of October, but an early frost might catch us out. Please choose from dates available below and check back if the date you had in mind is not available to book yet.

This weekend 6th/7th October will be the last chance to PYO flowers at Roots this season. We will be planning and planting for 2024 over the winter and hope to be back in the Spring. Here are the dates available for booking so far, we are listing them a few weeks at a time to help manage plot sessions, please don't hesitate to get in touch if you can't find what you are looking for.

During the summer and early Autumn, Meg is leading guided tours of the flower field with an opportunity to learn more about growing seasonal flowers for cutting. Based around the PYO plot, there will also be an opportunity to see behind the scenes, the poly tunnels and other crops.
